Oh, who art thou from long ago,
Who used the timeless tools I know,
To write the words which whisper days,
You filled with psalms and poems of praise.
Oh, king of kingdom past and gone,
Your lettered lyrics linger on,
In masterworks of blessed love,
Between a king and God above.
For none hath penned with loving thought,
The wondrous works which God has wrought,
No other soul hath sought to state,
The mighty love, of one so great.
Though thine be words of old; I still,
Have marvelled at thy mastered skill,
And found through all thy written art
The king is after God's own heart.
"After removing Saul, he made David their king. He testified concerning him: I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.
Acts 13:22"
